Forklift Operator

Job Overview: As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, load, and unload materials within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. Your role involves ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods while adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Handling:
   • Operate a forklift to move materials, products, and pallets within the facility.
   • Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas using the forklift.
2. Inventory Control:
   • Assist in inventory management by transporting and organizing materials as directed.
   • Conduct physical counts and assist with cycle counting as needed.
3. Safety Compliance:
   • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while operating the forklift.
   • Conduct pre-operational checks on the forklift to ensure it is in proper working condition.
   • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
4. Product Staging:
   • Stage products in designated areas for efficient loading and unloading.
   • Follow loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage to goods.
5. Communication:
   • Communicate effectively with warehouse and logistics team members.
   • Coordinate with supervisors and other forklift operators to ensure smooth material flow.
6. Documentation:
   • Maintain accurate records of materials moved, quantities, and locations.
   • Complete shipping and receiving documentation as required.
7. Equipment Maintenance:
   • Perform routine maintenance on the forklift, such as checking fluid levels and reporting issues.
   • Ensure the forklift is kept clean and in good working condition.
8. Efficiency Improvement:
   • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance the efficiency of material handling.
   • Provide feedback on warehouse layout and storage practices for optimization.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid forklift operator certification or license.
• Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of forklift safety practices and operational procedures.
• Ability to operate the forklift with precision and caution.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects.
